SuperGroupies Gunbuster Model Wristwatch

Top o Nerae! Gunbuster is 37 years old – and still garners attention. CDJapan notified me that a SuperGroupies Gunbuster Model Wristwatch is available. (I’m not sure why I got a notification this week; the watch was released at the beginning of the year.) It’s a gorgeous watch with color and trim that perfectly match the Gunbuster mecha. Coach Ota’s name is engraved on the buckle, and the Earth Imperial Space Force emblem is engraved on the crown. Unlike the original Gunbuster, the watch doesn’t transform, unfortunately.

I've missed blogging.

And I don’t mean that lightly. Blogging was a huge part of my identity in my twenties - LiveJournal, friends lists, comments that turned into conversations that turned into friendships. It was where I learned how to think in public, how to process, how to belong.

Which is… mildly horrifying, actually, because my twenties were a terrifyingly long time ago now.

snowflake_challenge starting tomorrow feels like the right moment to come back. Not to recreate old-school LJ (because time and the internet both move on), but to reclaim the part of me that likes having a home for my thoughts. A place that isn’t chasing reach or views or polish or relevance, that isn't a slave to an algorithm.

And if all I end up writing about is fanfiction and tennis and books and school? That’s fine. That is my life right now. Those were my LJ AND DW staples once upon a time too, just with different fandoms and different obsessions and the same intensity.

This is my Dreamwidth. It gets to be personal, fannish, repetitive, niche. It gets to be a place where I show up as I am, not as I think I should be.

So. Hello again. I’ve missed this. Let’s see where it takes me now.

We're in the final hours of 2025, so I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Snowflake 2026 season. We're so happy you're all here, little snowflakes. I did spend an hour editing the Kaijuu No. 8 fic this morning, so the K-9 fever is truly no longer up to a vibration-inducing 11 XD Just a more manageable 8 or 9 depending on the hour of the day. And I really enjoyed rereading the last couple of chapters of the kn8 fic to remember where I was at. THESE GUYS :D This is for an OT3 that doesn't have any fic for it yet. I hope there'll be a couple of readers out there curious enough to check it out anyway, and see if they too can appreciate and share the vision :D

With the end of the year in sight, I've been thinking about how writing went this year. I am, of course, not meeting my

getyourwordsout pledge again (150K words), haha. It'll land around 114k. Wordcount-wise, it's been clear for a while that this would be my lowest year EVER since recordings began (aka 2020 ;)). For a couple of months there, it even looked like I might not even reach 100k, just because I was still editing so much and writing so short well into November. Then I picked up the kn8 fic to revise, and had to add and expand on a lot of missing scenes/do more showing (anchoring ;D) which helped a lot with finally reaching that milestone, phew. Little did I know K-9 would happen to me shortly after and make December the month with my second highest word count this year, haha.

Also, something interesting is going to happen in 2026! Adding all my word counts from 2020 until today, the total comes to 975K. Obviously, everything could go spectacularly to shit, but based on the past few years, there's a very good chance I'm going to reach that 1 million words milestone next year. I'm a bit nervous because I started writing again in 2020 firmly with a quote in mind, something I'd heard around the lines of "everybody has 1 million bad words in them before they can get to the good ones; unfortunately the only way to get rid of them is to write them out" and that's been a source of comfort when my writing doesn't always meet the standard I hope for. What will I do if word #1,000,001 is actually pretty crap anyway, though?? Haha. My mind is already preparing "well it wasn't 1M words of novel-sized projects, so you have to keep at it anyway" etc etc, so I will probably be okay either way ;)

But still. Something to look forward to :)

Normally around now I'd be doing my year in review of all the stories I wrote but I don't think I'm going to do that this year. Almost no one here is in my current fandoms and I ran a lot of the stories here so those who were going to read them probably have already. I haven't seen anyone else doing any end of the year stuff yet either so I'm sure I'll be doing something.

Instead I thought I'd throw it open to everyone what's your most current fandom that's eating your brain. Talk about. Tell us why. I don't care if it's one you've been faithful to for 30 years or one you found this weekend, let's hear about it.

Here's mine. The Amazing Digital Circus What? You expected it to be Hazbin Hotel right? Well that's true but I've talked about it a lot. While I am not as actively writing TADC (nor do I plan to) I love this weird animation. I will say much like other shows I love (Prodigal Son, Hazbin) that it took until episode 3 for me to really get into it. That's the same here and that's why I'm putting that episode here. It's still my favorite.

TADC is interesting because you have such personalities in it, Kinger whose mind is so damaged he can't function except in the dark where things are quieter, Ragatha of the toxic positivity and people pleasing. Zooble with body dysmorphia, Gangle with depression, Jax with some kind of trauma that has made him an asshole and into this comes Pomni, the latest person sucked into the game that is the circus, who turns into the group therapist after a fashion. Running the game is Caine, the AI that is having his own psychotic episode.

It's 3-D animation which I generally do not like but the story telling is very interesting once it hits its stride. It's also free over here on Youtube (I know, I know)

I did get my meds in theory. It was the doctor who missed the request in the system. She fixed it within the hour. But there was a lot of snow today. Probably more tomorrow but I'll have to go to CVS regardless as tomorrow my insurance ends.

I did a lot of work on my classes. Still so much more to do. Ugh, I always do this, put it off to the last minute.

This AMV has kind of been my 2025: I started it in January and have finished in December. It wasn't really a continuous effort though, I abandoned it between February and September. But we'll call it the whole year, because it feels like it T_T I spent SO long on this. I don't count time but it was EASILY thirty hours, or maybe more... Nothing in this video really warrants that amount of time, it was a lot of me puzzling between 12 different options for every single possible choice.

My posting schedule tends to be: I'm trying to be better with updates. My plan is to post every Tuesday. Sometimes there will be dear creator letters for exchanges.

When I add people, my dealbreakers are:
• Conservatives. I feel bad saying that. I have conservative friends irl but I don't want to see it online if that makes sense.
• If you're a Christian who constantly talks about Christianity I'm not interested. It's fine if you're Christian, but if every conversation you make it about the Bible and Jesus that's annoying to me.
• If you hate people who like Harry Potter and think all fans are transphobic etc. I'm a Hufflepuff so if that bothers you then nope.
• In regards to fanfiction and creating, a deal breaker is if you think that if someone writes about 'X' then they must support 'X' irl.
Damn there's more deal breakers than I thought.

Before adding me, you should know: I'm nonbinary/genderfluid (he/him pronouns but she/her is fine too) and bisexual. I'm open with health stuff (see above for examples). Been married for almost 15 years (refer to him as hubby) and have a 7 year old (refer to her as Huttlet). I'm a geek/nerd/whatever. I have created a community -

bookclub_dw - that will run like an in-person book club. One member of the community will have host duties for the month, which includes choosing the book for the comm to read that month and moderating a discussion about the book at the end of the month.

I used to belong to a book club and really loved being pushed to read things that weren't on my radar, and have a chance to sit around and chat about the experience. I'm hoping to create something similar with this community.

I'm open to suggestions about the procedures and guidelines for how the community operates - please have a look at the community and then come back here to this post to give me feedback.

I plan to start with the first book in January - looking forward to it!

Spy x Family Season 4 Gets Disappointing Release Date Update

"In a surprising turn of events, TV Tokyo has refrained from officially renewing Spy x Family for a fourth season. While many expected an update to come out following the release of the Season 3 finale last week, the official X (formerly Twitter) page of the anime instead announced a special event, set to take place on November 8, 2026."

I started watching Ooku on a whim and got through it over the holiday. (It's only 10 episodes!) It's about an alternate history of Japan where a plague wiped out most men and continues to keep the population gender-imbalanced, and women began to take over their roles in society. The story centers on the Ooku, the male harem of a female shogun.

That's it!! I think I've exorcised the worst of the fandom fever with this one. It combines a lot of happy images (I don't care if it's all tell-don't-show until the kissing begins, it's telling nice things!! XD). It makes me happy to make them happy, too. The previous angsty fic didn't come out easily, with a new-to-me (well, new-to-the-entire-fandom really 😆) PoV that didn't make it any easier. This one was only hard to edit because of all the happy noises I made rereading :D

And I'm finally able to hear my abandoned kn8 fic making sad kaijuu meeps again, phew. While K-9 is very most certainly in my top fandoms at the moment (and I'm looking forward to requesting it in

candyheartsex in 2 days :D) (and also offer it, but, well, I also know how to keep my expectations in check for a fandom in which members can be counted on one hand XD) (wow totally got lost in my parenthesises here) ANYWAY I CAN ALSO THINK OF OTHER PROJECTS wooohoo who knew there were other things going on out there?!
